For the poetic way in which such a dramatic theme as the imprisonment of a father in a harsh and violent historical-social context is tackled, the dramaturgical solution of the story chosen by the author is effective, which focuses on the mechanism that allows the child – with a design – to circumvent the ideological and bureaucratic rigidity of the prison system. Particularly appreciable is the quality of the acting of the interpreters and the cleanliness and care of the staging.

It managed to actually leave us speechless. Incredible use of images and sounds to which different meanings are continuously assigned, mixing 3D and 2D animation in a very effective way. The intense and pressing narrative involves, restless and reassures at the same time and ends with an unexpected twist. The protagonist’s psychological self-analysis shows a new point of view that makes the short extremely original.

The sound is ingenious and capable of communicating in an immediate and spontaneous way. Every dynamic and narrative aspect of the theme song is enhanced and made clear by musical ideas that manage at the same time to be familiar and original, also thanks to a solid technical expertise.
2nd PRIZE: Daniele Mosca, Ancona
With beautiful musical variety and good technique, the soundtracks lead the viewer into a game of ironic expectations and surprises, which even know how to give animated objects a personality.
3rd PRIZE: Daniele Buffoni / Erika Agati, Pisa
Dynamic and brilliant, the musical path brightly emphasizes the evolution of events, carefully choosing the timbres with which to give life to the books of the theme song.
SPECIAL MENTION UNDER 20: Nahuel Lopez, Como
It stands out for the sly atmosphere of suspense created with wit and technique: a promising under 20 proposal.
AUTHORS AWARD: Antonio Volpe, Salerno
For the ability to describe the different moments without losing cohesion thanks to the melodic line and the continuous rhythmic support. For the management of the ending in which the soundtrack expertly accompanies the narrative crescendo until the closing of the theme song. For having grasped the spirit of animation and the intent of the authors.

Opening words
“Last night I was able to briefly attend the “David di Donatello “award ceremony. The presenter was alone in the television studio and one by one the various finalists were called by video connection from their homes. There was a red thread, a Ariadne thread, which united all their declarations: the pain of having to see the cinemas closed, the suffering of not being able to spread in the halls those films born to communicate.
So I thought of those who joined the Corti a Ponte festival in various ways: the organizers, all the participants, the finalists. How much work, how much commitment, how much passion each of them has lavished and, at the best part, at the moment when we should have shared meetings and projections, crossings of looks and handshakes, everything seemed to freeze in the grip of Covid-19.
It seemed: but it did not happen, because the “Corti a Ponte” festival did not step back.
One more reason to applaud the commitment of those who have not given up, one more reason to congratulate those who came out winners. One more reason to reiterate: not everything went as we would have liked, but we are here, the School does not stop, culture does not stop.
And we will come back again, stronger and more motivated than before.
